THINGS IN NEW YORK ARE ABOUT TO GO DOWN THE TOILET…

SYNAPSE FILMS PRESENTS AN EXCLUSIVE 4K RESTORATION OF

JAMES MURO’S COMEDY/HORROR CULT CLASSIC, STREET TRASH!

STREET DATE: The week of December 7, 2026.

Street Trash is the remarkably colorful and gory cult horror-comedy that emerged during the final wave of late-1980s super-gore cinema, just before truly subversive films gave way to safer R-rated horror and a flood of uninspired remakes.

In the sleazy, ominous underworld of lower Manhattan’s winos, derelicts, and drifters, two young runaways - 18-year-old Fred (Mike Lackey) and his brother Kevin (Mark Sferrazza) - live in a tire hut behind a sprawling auto wrecking yard. Their greatest danger comes from a case of Tenafly Viper, mysterious old booze discovered behind a wall in a local liquor store’s basement. It’s 40 years old—and it has gone very, very bad! Anyone who drinks it melts into multi-colored goo in seconds, and it’s only $1.00 a bottle.

One of the most requested titles in Synapse Films history now arrives on home video in an exclusive new uncut 4K restoration from the original 35mm camera negative supervised and approved by the film’s original director of photography, David Sperling, who worked closely with Synapse Films to ensure it looks exactly as he and director James Muro intended. This two-disc side-loading slipcase special edition includes both a 4K (2160p) UHD disc and a Blu-ray (1080p) of the newly remastered film and special features

This title will be available only from Synapse Films and our distributing partners DiabolikDVD, OrbitDVD and select Vinegar Syndrome retail stores. This will not be sold via larger e-tailers like Amazon.com. The Synapse Films release of Street Trash is the ONLY 4K approved by both the director of photography and producer, Roy Frumkes.

PLEASE NOTE: While the street date for this title is scheduled for the week of December 7, 2026, there is a very good chance that the disc will be available (and ship) well before that date. As soon as stock arrives in our warehouse, we will begin shipping. This title is a limited run of 4000 units only.
