We're Heading to Flashback Weekend Chicago!

Mark your calendars, collectors — Synapse Films is packing up the vault and hitting the road to Flashback Weekend Chicago Horror Convention, July 31–August 2, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Rosemont, IL.

If you've never been, Flashback Weekend is one of the last true dealer-room-first horror cons — the kind where you can dig through stacks of physical media, talk restoration nerdery with the people who actually did the work, and still make it to a celebrity panel without missing a beat. This year they're going all out for the 30th anniversary of SCREAM with a massive reunion, plus a full tribute to the Golden Age of 80's horror. Svengoolie's hosting a live talk show on stage. Alan Howarth is performing his HALLOWEEN II score live to a screening of the film. There's a costume contest. There's a dance party called "Welcome to Woodsboro." It's a lot, in the best way.

We'll have a table set up with our usual stack of cult, horror, and genre restorations — DVD, Blu-ray, and 4K UHD — for anyone who wants to dig through the physical media pile in person instead of scrolling a webstore. If you've been meaning to complete a set, fill a gap in your collection, or just want to hold a steelbook before you commit to it, this is the weekend to do it.
