Synapse Films Earns Two Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Award Nominations

We're honored to announce that Synapse Films has received two nominations for the 24th Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards — recognition from the horror community that means everything to us.

BEST RESTORATION OR UPGRADE The Deadly Spawn (1983)

Our 4K restoration of this underground splatter classic has been nominated alongside the year's finest preservation work. For nearly thirty years, Synapse has been committed to bringing cult and horror titles back from the dead with the care and technical excellence they deserve, and this nomination affirms that mission.

BEST DOCUMENTARY Hearts of Darkness: The Making of "The Final Friday"

Directed by Michael Felsher and exclusively distributed by Synapse Films, this deep-dive documentary on Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday has struck a chord with horror fans and historians alike. Winner of Best Documentary at the 2025 Ravenheart International Film Festival and now a Rondo nominee, Hearts of Darkness pulls back the curtain on one of the franchise's most controversial entries with never-before-seen footage and candid interviews.

The Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards are voted on by fans and represent the voice of the horror community worldwide. These nominations belong to the collectors, archivists, and obsessives who support physical media and preservation.

Voting is now open at www.rondoaward.com through Friday night at midnight, May 1, 2026.

Thank you for supporting Synapse Films and keeping cult cinema alive.
